Conclusion
Many of you have felt it.
I love my species.
I only have rational faith in my species.
I am not blind, I can see his unpleasant attributes, but still, that changes nothing, because I know where all that unpleasantness is comming from.
As said before, wrong behavior (evil) and right behavior (good) are the two facets of the same strategy for survival and prosperity in a world dominated by scarcity.
Survival dictates unpleasantness (evil) with the rival clan or enemy to survive by acquiring necessary scarcities at their expense, but also dictates pleasantness like caring, compassion and goodness towards our own clan whose support is vital to be able to acquire or defend the necessary scarcities.
In an environment dominated by scarcity and in the presence of the "other", all directives and expectations for "being only good" coming from gods or God or men are meaningless and downright abnormal.
We are formed through the eons to be both "good" and "bad" to survive. Since the scarcity of the world is relatively unchanged, and since "the other" is always there, how can we even think that "be only good" is an applicable directive for survival?
For "be only good" to be an applicable directive, one of the factors, scarcity or "the other", should be kicked out of existence.
Better still, both should be kicked out.
This is what this book is all about: the ultimate necessity; the necessity of the ultimate rationality, the covenant among men, to destroy scarcity, utterly and definitively.
If we succeed in uniting against scarcity, we will no longer need the abnormal directive "be only good", because being "good" will automatically turn out to be the primary condition of our covenant, as will our cooperation be the environment of our existence.
Why wait for a common enemy or a planetary catastrophe to unite and see each other as partners, when the common enemy and the planetary catastrophe has always crushed us in its clutches: Scarcity.
Man's nastiness is not his fault.
It is a coping mechanism to an environment dominated by scarcity.
Man is guilty of nothing. He should not feel any guilt for any of his shortcomings in any domain; he did not decide or choose anything.
Man can only see himself and others as being relatively lucky or relatively unlucky.
All life-forms are innocent. But man is the greatest innocent life-form that the universe has ever produced.
Man is never created bad, as some primitive "revelations" or writings that do not know better, would like us to believe. Man being created bad is currently echoed by some humans who refuse to think.
Man is both all capable, and innocent; man cannot have better attributes than the ones he already has.
We will realize that about ourselves once we defeat the scarcity of nature, and destroy the factor that has forced our negative attributes into existence.
Guilt has always diminished man by chaining the expression of his specificities.
Guilt makes man exist as a shadow of himself.
The awareness that he always was innocent and can never be blamed for anything, will allow man to liberate himself from guilt, accept himself, love himself, and start breathing again.
Liberation from guilt will liberate his creativity, and make possible the actualization of his potentials.
Confidence and the liberty to breathe freely (or the need to) is everything in creativity.
As mentioned under the section criminality, even criminals did not choose to be criminals. Unluckily for us and them, we are forced to lock them up until the time when we acquire the means to deal with the reasons giving birth to criminality. Creating abundance will surely deal with a large percentage of criminal activity.
We have always been innocent of any wrong we have ever been accused of, wherever the accusation came from.
Science will erase all these false accusations by understanding and eliminating the reasons giving rise to criminality.
Man has always been an innocent bystander to what life made him.
The individual's nature is totally malleable and predictable for nature, its elaborator.
Man is neither responsible for his unpleasant attributes and rivalry, nor for his pleasant ones and supportiveness.
Man's nature totally reflects the conditions of his existence.
Man is the child of scarcity.
Some men may currently live in abundance, even obscene abundance, but they still are the children of scarcity.
We all are.
Even if mankind starts over with the highest awareness of "spirituality", he will still develop into what he is today, because survival in an environment of scarcity will produce nothing else, even if we put man in a divine imperative to be something else.
In my understanding, "spirituality" should eventually benefit humanity. If humanity does not benefit from "spirituality", or if "spirituality" is pursued at the expense of humanity, then "spirituality" becomes an alternative to "humanity"; it becomes an abstract masturbation that only pleasures the imagination...
I know these words about something so "divine" or "high" or "idealistic" as "spirituality" shock you;
GOOD!
But man's most ingenious, unique, exclusive, marvelous ability is that he can change his environment and become the reflection of that new environment.
Man himself can change his "programming", which will eventually change his nature.
Single condition: Doing it together.
He can decide what kind of life he wants to have, and can have it.
Single condition: Doing it together.
He can think of and collectively create an environment which will influence his malleable nature and make him evolve in a way which he has always aspired to be.
Single condition: Doing it together.
Some might think that the apprehension of "creation by design" negates the possibility of man influencing his own evolution, which should only be influenced by design from a designer. This might lead us to adopt some kind of passive attitude like ... "Let it be".
What if the "creation by design" includes the "design" that once man achieves a certain awareness and acquires certain technological means, he can not only influence his evolution, but remodel that which was thought to be fixed, hereditary or unchangeable: his nature?
Scarcity and limitedness of everything, including the scarcity of the years of his life, has led man down this path of evolution for survival.
To what path of evolution will abundance and a multiple of his current life expectancy lead to?
We can never affirm for sure, but we can already have an idea about the evolution of man in an environment of human cooperation, without the need for rivalry with "others", since the "others" will exist no more, will have shed their "other-ness" by cooperating with us for all our sakes, having the same desire not to be rivals anymore.
If that happens, do you think man will so easily sacrifice his "almost immortality" by blowing himself up or risk being killed in some war for whatever secondary or virtual benefit?
There is not a shred of doubt in my mind (of course it means very little since it always is a personal conviction, even if rational and undoubted) that man will eventually evolve to a species that will realize his full potential as the living jewel of the universe, because logically it is the inescapable outcome of his abstract mind realizing its own stupendous uniqueness; Man is in possession of the absolute tool that unlocks all that exists, be they in his mind or in the world outside that includes him.
Our mind always tries to solve the problems of any given situation by taking necessary actions to maximize survival and well-being.
The mind creates every aspect of human behavior to survive and prosper.
We have not evolved by a single millimeter since the beginning of time, because we have always lived in, or with, the fear of scarcity. As much as it pleases us to think that "we must have" evolved, "look at our civilization and be amazed...", well we have not, not in our essence, because it is something impossible to do.
How do we expect any major evolution, when the conditions that should cause that evolution are always basically the same?
Man has remained the poor creature that continues to live in, and deal with scarcity, thinking he is "evolving".
Only our manner of dealing with scarcity "is evolving", not us; we still are the species that cultivates "evolved" violence and "evolved" rivalry as well as "evolved" "sameness" to deal with scarcity.
We have not evolved... not by a single millimeter...
The only thing that will make us evolve is our beautiful mind; our only, true self and savior.
Our "selves", our "being", our "ego", our soul, our individuality, ... is only our mind continuously adapting to its environment to insure survival and well-being, working with whatever inherited predispositions it has to work with.
The only thing we have to do, is make our beautiful minds come in contact with the facts, all the facts, be they positive or negative, and trust it with the rest... ALL the rest, even with our "evolution"...
And what are the facts, both positive and negative?
Positive:
Man can create what he needs and desires by cooperating on a grand level, the level of the species.
Negative:
Man has never done anything on a planetary scale, and to start with cooperation when what he has always known is rivalry, does not seem possible.
So the main negative "fact", is mistrust in the other's "intelligence" to see the positive fact and do what should be done.
But luckily the negative fact has nothing to do with intelligence; it has everything to do with the indoctrination of both "doubter" and "doubted".
Both facts cannot be argued with.
If we cannot doubt the positive, we also cannot doubt the negative, because there are so many different indoctrinations, ranging from arranged "truths" coming from all sorts of authorities, to so many "divine truths" "revealed" by the supposed creator, that the way to man's beautiful mind is closed shut by layers and layers of different indoctrinations.
If only we could access the beautiful minds of our future collaborators, all we would need to do is simply leave both facts (positive and negative) somewhere close, and leave.
Their minds, seeing the positive fact would do the rest, and we would find them "the next day" early out of bed, eager to start right away...
The problem is to crack these layers of indoctrination, and allow the mind to get some air.
This is no simple task.
The process of liberation from indoctrination and its psychological conditioning may inflict an unbearable terror of losing our certitudes, our footing in life, and pain, a lot of "soul draining" pain caused by letting all our "certitudes" go.
I trust what was already said should be enough to slowly initiate the process of critical thought, and bring man to the awareness of an existing consensus, and the factuality of having everything we need or want in this world, including the kind of people we want to be.
We would even create the exact world the supposed creator wanted us to live in:
A world of cooperation and ... Faith... rational faith... in what we are doing...
But that's not all...
Finding the eventual Creator will even be a priority, because the Creator will be our shortcut to the knowledge we seek...
The human scientific project will be a win (having what we want) - win (creating a peaceful, cooperating planet) - win (searching for the eventual Creator) situation.
From here on, we have to trust the human mind.
I cannot understand why the Creator of the universe will only come to us when we destroy each other, to simply "snatch" the "righteous", instead of comming to us when we cooperate, live peacefully and engage the task of understanding everything about His supposed creation, which would mean adopting His creation in the most factual of ways? By understanding?
He has left bread crumbs ... in everything we see...
What if ... He is waiting?
Man has always wanted to understand whatever he is in contact with; his mind demands it.
He is only appeased when he understands, or thinks he does.
His journey towards knowledge and understanding took him from the unseen to the supernatural, to spirits, to gods, to polytheism, to monotheism, to rudimentary empiric pseudo - science, to real science and technology, to all sorts of diverging beliefs, until he got to where he is.
All beliefs or whatever superstition or unproven hypothesis he presented about his environment, was in reality all about satisfying his need to understand, and be appeased.
He asked for trust, belief or faith when he could not prove a model of creation, simply to deter the validation from proof, to some sort of validation by statistics, which would "validate" the model by common acceptance...
Man was trying to appease his irresistible urge to understand his surroundings, but he was simply not doing it the right way, and not using the right tools.
I know you already knew some, most, or all of the things advanced in this book; you already felt them.
You just needed to remember...
The ambition of this book is to be the spark.
All the things advanced in this book are not abrupt changes from what we are used to, but the contrary; all that is mentioned here follow the direct line of what we are used to, and can be considered as being only a series of (big) upgrades.
Upgrade from a human organization that holds the individual responsible for his differences, to an organization where individual determinism is accepted and eventually integrated in the human organization, after complete analysis and acquisition of the means to do so.
Upgrade from religion that makes you think you understand, to science that really makes you understand.
Upgrade from religion that promises, to science that delivers.
Upgrade from "truth" (the supernatural) that confuses and divides, to fact (the real) that federates.
Upgrade from representative democracy that defeats individual representation, to direct democracy that IS individual representation.
Upgrade from the use of a negligible percentage of the abstract minds on the planet with negligible budgets, to a consequent percentage of abstract minds with a huge planetary budget.
Upgrade from acquiring abundance only for oneself by oneself at the expense of the others, to abundance for all by all, at nobody's expense.
Upgrade from a lifetime of a hundred years with the last quarter in bad health, to a lifetime of many multiples of a hundred years in perfect health and youth.
Everything is an upgrade of what we are used to.
The only (big) change involves our awareness.
Since we are made to think and are made to be so accustomed to the ridiculous idea that changes in our human organization should only be done by "not us" and should take huge amounts of time, we will have a hard time believing we can do all this.
It is perfectly understandable, even natural for the public to doubt itself after such intensive indoctrination that we should all follow what a few people decide.
We should not forget that these "few people" use our own specialists to know what to decide, and in general incorporate a huge dose of self - interest in the decisions. Without our own specialists, they are like anyone of us, of course only acting as being of a different "cast".
We are also made to see the anecdotic "improvements" in representative democracy that are proposed by politicians as the "reasonable", the "responsible" or the only way to go.
The public is always made to doubt itself. A self - doubting public will never be able to decide or achieve anything, but to let non - public "elites" decide and achieve at his stead.
If the people doubting themselves think without being "led" to doubt themselves further, then the undoubted certitude that the human scientific project is in fact the only thing that can be done and should be done, will "click" into place.
Once we think about it in depth, we will see the human scientific endeavor for what it really is: The only thing that deserves man's undivided attention and effort.
It is the realization of all our desires, and the human answer to all our prayers...
Once we analyze in depth all the factors involved, we will be "hit" by the "revelation" that the human scientific project is not only possible, but sure; we can only argue about the time needed to achieve what we want.
Individuals who declare that the human scientific project is "uncertain" and could even be dangerous (arousing fear is the most efficient manner to distance the gullible from the thing they "should not" engage in), surely have ulterior motives.
We are not running on rooftops or flying with our cars from one building to the other to make the human scientific endeavor work.
There is no danger.
What we will be doing is putting one foot in front of the other, even occasionally one foot behind the other, and propose to implement the upgrades once everything is in working order, and only by a common decision.
And we can always go back.
Where is the risk? At worst we lose time and effort.
Since currently we do not control the domains of scientific research or our own organization, then we already are at great risk.
The claim that the human scientific endeavor or any of the organizational upgrades needed as a prerequisite for it to exist, are uncertain or dangerous, defies sense and falls in the domain of "personal prophecy serving undeclared interests" rather than anything else.
Even the "...ism"s or "...ist"s which will probably be abundantly used to spred doubt, make no sense.
We all came to this world and found it moving in all directions except the only direction possible, the direction that ALL of humanity wants it to move, the direction of the consensus of human desires.
Many people have put forth ideas to make the world or their society a better place to live.
Unluckily all these ideas concerned only isolated aspects or were incomplete projects. They could not be anything else, because man could not communicate horizontally to come up with a quasi - complete project for humanity.
So what happened is that all these different ideas and incomplete projects flooded the minds of men ("ism"s, "ist"s), divided humanity, and made them the followers of this or that project, or "believers" in different projects.
Even if men came out with relatively complete projects about the world, these projects only proposed to "change the world" at the expense of some people or collective(s) thus victimizing them, without proposing equivalent compensations in return.
Greatness should have no victims.
Greatness should need no victims.
This "victimization" always had one predictable outcome: pain, fracture, opposition, sides, ... and all this for only a temporary victory.
Not having the right means or tools at the time, people could not find an efficient way to implement their ideas or collectively find pertinent solutions inspired by the new means and tools that we have now.
It is commonly admitted that young altruists are the first to rush in when the issue of making life better pops out.
There is nothing altruistic or egotistic in defining and working for the realization of our desires which are common to all of us. It is beyond altruistic and egotistic, beyond material or spiritual, beyond continents, beyond every separation that life in scarcity has formed or taught.
Everything learned in a life of scarcity unites people to form communities, but divides mankind.
Consensus is beyond all differences, even differences of logic and trends of thought, because if there is one thing all trends of thought agree upon by definition, it is the consensus; Our consensus that commands a unified front, a unified direction, action and effort from all directions and all differences to face our only enemy, scarcity, and defeat it once and for all.
As you see, this book is not a wakeup call or something of the sort.
It only is a book that arguments for a "covenant" among men.
This covenant will permit us to attain vital (literally) benefits which are consensual to all men and are only attainable by the togetherness of a human covenant.
Can there be a better purpose for humanity or a better meaning for all our lives as individuals or as collectives, as egoists or altruists, as idealists, realists or pragmatists, as artists or scientists, as every possible characteristic with which we apprehend our being or existence, than to collectively work and inescapably achieve what we have always dreamed about as any part of humanity?
This is just a book that reminds man of this already known but forgotten option.
Man simply desires to "live long and prosper" (Spock said it, not me...), to maximize his chance for happiness.
Achieving what we desire is a process.
We do not have to be infallible.
We do not have to feel guilty for our mistakes.
If we can do that, then mistakes will only exist as learned lessons.
Rational knowledge (as opposed to "spiritual", "internal" or "direct" knowledge) is all about integrating our errors and their analysis in our knowledge base.
Once you recapitulate the major ideas expressed in this book (and correct the errors...), you will inescapably conclude that there can exist only one purpose for the individually determined, totally innocent, abstract and uniquely capable species that we are:
Understand our natural environment, our human environment, and liberating the yet - not - well - known aspect of our abstract mind, our creativity, come up with a coherent human organization which hinges on togetherness and the use of the unique instrument of understanding and creation existing in the universe, to create whatever we need or desire... at will... like magic...
With time (a lot of it), it can even take us to the stars, if we so desire...
Too much?
Given time (which we will hopefully have), nothing is "too much" for our abstract minds trying to satisfy its need for understanding and creativity.
The awareness that our individual determinism can only be defeated as a species, should start creating in us the consequent logical perspective.
Anything can be used as a weapon, even my rational "admiration" for my species.
My uncompromising demand is that this book or the arguments presented in this book never be used as a weapon against any individual of my species or any community of my species, majority or minority (they surely feel hurt already by my occasional cynicism...), even if a large part of my species is temporarily bathing in hostility/arrogance for the only reason possible: not - knowing - better.
My species should know the following about itself:
- The cosmos created the ultimate abstract life - form by creating man, but scarcity "programed" him to this current, ridiculously diminished version of himself.
- Everyone and every community is everyone's and every community's future ally and collaborator against scarcity, whether they realize it, desire it, or deny it.
"Not - knowing - better" can only be temporary.
Let's leave all individuals or collectives of our species that "do not know better" be, and do what we have to.
In time we will inevitably see them coming out of their safe, comfort zones, their "certitudes" (all different), "beliefs" (all different), warm baths of "Let it be", doubt and "not - knowing - better", and advance with us, shoulder to shoulder, against the dominant winds of scarcity, without blinking.
That's what togetherness in consensus will do to my brilliant, inventive, creative, all capable, and ... totally innocent species.
He will no longer blink.
And when my species no longer blinks ... the Creator, be it the universe or a super - sentient personal being, will finally smile ...
In expectation ...
I love my species.
I only have rational faith in my species.
I am not blind, I can see his unpleasant attributes, but still, that changes nothing, because I know where all that unpleasantness is comming from.
